Hired Muscle

Pissed someone off and need protection? Gotta travel through some bandit territory? Just need someone to stand there and look scary? Kaynn is always looking for work. Pay him enough, and he'll make sure you don't die.

The Fist of Rhalgr

Lately, Kaynn has been hanging around Gyr Abania more since he started monk training. What the hell is a viera mercenary doing in Ala Mhigo learning the way of the Fist of Rhalgr? Who knows!

Woodsman

Even though Kaynn cannot return to the forest with his clan, he still enjoys being in nature and is a natural survivalist. He often feels trapped within cities, and tries to get out as much as he can. He is more than happy to show people how to survive and live in the woods.

OOC

Hello! I'm Fayth! I've been RPing for awhile and with many characters. I am 21+ and would prefer if my partners were 21+ as well since I prefer mature RP (Not ERP, though).I'm okay with most themes save for the really intensely dark stuff. Just ask to be safe if you think you're toeing that line. If anything makes you uncomfortable, feel free to let me know! No worries!I try to keep to lore as much as possible, and am okay with some lore bendy stuff, since not every single thing in the universe is explained. I also prefer not to RP with any WoLs, Story NPCs, or totally lore breaking things. You do you! Just not for me.I tend to write longer responses (A paragraph or shorter usually), but I can match any pace.I really love combat RP! But I do /random to keep it fair. And do give me a warning/ask before you smack Kaynn upside the head out of nowhere or try to take an eye out or something. OOC consent is everything.I'm a full-time artist, so the times I'm active varies from day-to-day. Just shoot me a /tell or discord message if you wanna schedule anything!!

Background

The Mountains of Ilsabard
As expected from a male viera in his clan, Kaynn was trained and became a Wood Warder, guarding the mountains of Ilsabard. Also as his duty, he trained other young viera to become wood warders, but this did not go well. He had four apprentices in total, and all but the last had died either during their training, or the rite.
This last one, Kerial, went missing, and not wanting another dead apprentice Kaynn searched through the forest for him for days. He ran into a person in need, cornered by wild beasts. In a rare act of mercy from a Wood Warder, he helped fight off the beasts and saved the man. Once the danger was clear, the man introduced himself as Florentius Vulpes, a garlean refugee escaping the madness in his home country.
In exchange for his rescue, he offered to teach Kaynn the way of reapers and help search for his apprentice. Together, they traveled in the woods for weeks, unable to find the missing apprentice. Kaynn eventually gave up hope on finding him, coming to the conclusion that he had died. Florin suggested he may be out of the forest, and if Kaynn really wanted to find him, they would have to leave.
A Whole New World
Kaynn agreed, and the two traveled throughout the realm, eventually ending up in Eorzea. After awhile, Kaynn quietly gave up his search, and the two spent their days adventuring through the lands.
After the Final Days, his friend expressed a desire to return home and help rebuild, offering to bring Kaynn along. In their time together, they had met many other garleans, many who immediately distrusted Kaynn because he was not one of them. Kaynn declined, knowing he would never truly be welcome, but quietly hoping he would stay with him.
He did not, and Kaynn found himself alone in Eorzea, unable to return to the forest. Now, he feels lost, wandering like a ghost trying to find his place in a world where he cannot return home.

Recovering Reaper
After over a decade of trying to deal with possibly the worst voidsent avatar on the star, Kaynn set about breaking the pact. Ever since he got the help of a red mage and thaumaturge to do so, he's retired his scythe and has not looked back.
He's pretty hesitant to talk about it for obvious reason, and tries to pretend it never happened, but he was seen with a scythe enough for some people to remember, and his aether is certainly a bit strange from the influence of the void.
Thanks to his pact, working as a mercenary was easy enough, but now that it's broken, he has been forced to find another martial art. Ever since he met the Ala Mhigan red mage, Reina, he had been gaining an interest in traditional Ala Mhigan arts, specifically, the Fist of Rhalgr. So, when he realized he needed more training, he traveled to Gyr Abania to learn.
Now, Kaynn continues to work as a mercenary with his now girlfriend Reina, using what he has been learning in Rhalgr's Reach.
